Release <br />has stopped but is not contained with no waterways impacted. Local Fire <br />Department is on scene and evacuated 50 people and 2 personnel have been <br />sent to a hospital. <br />Called and spoke to Ben Schlegelmilch, Leprino Foods Engineering Manager, who <br />confirmed the information from the spill report. Ben stated personnel were on a lift <br />working on/near a freezer and came into close contact with the ammonia line that <br />ruptured. Ben also stated the release vented to air, and although the release was <br />stopped, the system still needs to be repaired. Ben did not know which fire <br />department was on-site, and he stated the fire dept was about to leave or already <br />left the site. Ben did not know which hospital the affected two personnel were <br />taken to. Ben also stated the evacuation order has not been lifted, but would be <br />lifted once personnel conduct a final walk through of the facility. <br />Received an update to the initial Cal OES spill report indicating 150 lbs of <br />ammonia vapor released. <br />Discussed complaint with Melissa Nissim, CUPA Program Coordinator, Elena <br />Manzo, Ld Sr REHS, and Haza Saeed, Ld Sr REHS. <br />Emailed Dr. Maggie Park, Public Health Officer, CC'd EHD's Director-Jasjit Kang, <br />Asst. Director-Muniappa Naidu, Melissa, Elena and Haza. the Cal OES spill report <br />and update, as well as an explanation of the incident. <br />Generated Prop 65. <br />Received a call from Christina Armatas, the on-call Environmental and <br />Occupational Duty Officer for California Department of Public Health. Answered <br />Christina's questions regarding the release.
