SANsJOAQUIN <br />-COUNTY <br />Environmental Health Department <br />Greatness grows her-e. <br />COMPLAINT INSPECTION REPORT <br />Name of Facility LEPRINO FOODS COMPANY INC Date: 05/02/2023 <br />Address: 2401 N MACARTHUR , TRACY <br />Owner/Operator LEPRINO FOODS COMPANY INC Telephone: (209) 833-4223 <br />Program Element: 2500 - EMERGENCY RESPONSE Complaint #: C00055808 <br />Responsible Party Contact: BEN SCHLEGELMILCH <br />DESCRIPTION OF COMPLAINT ALLEGATIONS <br />The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department received the following complaint: <br />On 5/1/23 facility reported two ammonia releases. One release occurred on 4/27/23 from an evaporative coil inside the <br />freezer and estimated to be 7 pounds release. The other release occurred on 4/30/2023 from the ice cooler pressure gauge. <br />Both releases were stopped. No exposure or evacuation due to the releases. <br />OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br />COMMENTS AND OBSERVATIONS <br />On 4/27/2023 approximately 7 pounds of ammonia released from Evaporative Coil # inside the storage freezer. Facility <br />maintenance team stopped the release and isolated the evaporative coil unit. <br />On 4/30/2023 approximately 11 pounds of ammonia released from the ice cooler pressure gauge due to a crack inside the <br />gauge. Pressure gauge was replaced by the team and stopped the release. <br />Incident investigations for both releases are in progress. No exposure or evacuation due to these release. No Ammonia <br />detectors in the areas where the releases occurred. Releases were discovered by facility personnel. <br />Corrective Action(s): <br />-Submit a complete incident investigation reports to SJC EHD within 30 days. The reports should include descriptions of the <br />incidents, root causes of the incidents, photos of the impacted equipment, steps taken to resolve the issues, and future <br />recommendations. <br />The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and <br />Safety Code.
