All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa chlorine was above 14 ppm. Maintain spa chlorine between 3-10 ppm when operating. <br />Corrected on site neutralizer was added and it was 3.4 ppm. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pH was above 8. Maintain pH between 7.2-7.8 when operating. Corrected on site, acid was added <br />and it was 7.8. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: Lacking spa capacity and spa warning signs. Provide spa capacity sign and spa warning sign that <br />contains the following: <br />1. Elderly persons, pregnant women, infants and those with health conditions requiring medical care should consult with a <br />physician before entering the spa. <br />2. Unsupervised use by children under the age of 14 is prohibited. <br />3. Hot water immersion while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, drugs or medicines may lead to serious <br />consequences and is not recommended. <br />4. Do not use alone. <br />5. Long exposure may result in hyperthermia, nausea, dizziness or fainting. <br />Correct today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified.
