AFTERCAREINSTRUCTIONS <br /> I . Information on the care of the procedure site . 2 . Restrictions on physical activities <br /> such as bathing, recreational water ac vities, gardening, or contact with animals, <br /> and the duration of the restrictions . 3. Signs and symptoms of infection including <br /> but not limited to redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks <br /> going from the procedure site towards theeart, elevated body temperature , or <br /> purulent drainage from the procedure site . 4 . Instructions to call a physician if any <br /> of the addressed signs and symptoms appear or for any other reason related to the <br /> Body Art procedure(s) . 5 . If physician care is required by the client related to the <br /> Body Art procedure (s) , the client is to notify the Body Art facility and practitioner of <br /> the problem and the resolution by a physician or clinic. This information shall be <br /> placed in the client's file. <br /> Authentic Images Tattoos & Piercings Tattoo AfterCare Instructions <br /> * Leaveflie bandage that you received after the tattoo on for 30 min to 1 hour if saran wrapped. <br /> if <br /> Saniderm is used leave on for 4 days. Tattoo will seem as if oozing, these are body fluids. fluids <br /> will dry up: This is a normal- part of thehealing process. Thebandageis thereto keep airborne <br /> bacteria and any other contaminants in the environment from invading your wound. <br /> * Make sure your hands have been washed thoroughly before you remove the bandage. <br /> * After removing the bandage, cleanse the tattooed area with soap and water. Do not scrub the <br /> tattoo. <br /> * Dry the tattooed area by gently patting- the area with a clean, sterile towel. <br /> *Lightly rub on hand lotion such as Curel or Aveeno <br /> * You do not re-bandage <br /> * Relieat steps above for three-four days, approximately three to six times a day. <br /> DO NOT: * Go swimming or soak in a hot tub or bath* Use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing <br /> alcohol <br /> on your tattoo* Itch, pick, or scratch the tattoo* Participate in activities that will make you sweat <br /> * Stay out of the sun until your tattoo has healed completely. * Apply sun block to tattoo after it <br /> has healed whenever it is exposed to the sun to protect it <br />
