All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #1 Pool Gates MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The gates near apt 15, 7, and 2 were not fully self-closing and self-latching. Corrected on site, the 3 <br />gates were padlocked and pool gate from street was available for use. Keep gates locked until they are fully self-closing and <br />self-latching and email evidence of correction to dafonskaia@sjgov.org prior to using gates near apts 2, 7, and 15. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br />Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br />except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br />maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pH was below 7. Maintain pH between 7.2-7.8 when operating. Corrected on site, pH was 7.2. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: Lacking pool facility name and address on safety sign. Provide sign with information today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br />OBSERVATIONS: Pool light switch was not located during the inspection. Per older reports the pool light switch is in the <br />water heater room which was not accessed during the inspection. Provide operative pool light and functional GFCI. Email <br />evidence of correction to dafonskaia@sjgov.org <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br />pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br />not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and shall <br />secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark.
