Nature of complaint: DJ's Tr-Tip & BBQ cold packs being LINHARES
sold at Al AG Farmers Market. E-mailed DJ DjsTri-Tip (DjsTri-Tip)
<djstritip01@gmail.com> after attempting to call (209-390-7067...voicemail box is
full).
Where is this meat coming from? Where is it being stored? Where is it being
packaged?
There are no permits currently on record with our Dept. Both DJ's Tr-Tip food
trucks are currently inactive.
The address 320 W. Center St. in Manteca is not a permitted food facility.
As this meat is considered an "unapproved source," Al AG has been instructed to
discontinue sale of this product.
12/27/2022 Spoke with Vidal Pedraza regarding this complaint. After calling and speaking with LINHARES
operator DJ 209-390-7067, it was determined the meat sales are wholesale. Vidal
instructed the complaint be referred to CDFA. E-mailed complaint information to
CDFA Meat, Poultry & Egg Safety Branch cdfa.mpes_feedback@cdfa.ca.gov. See
attached e-mails.
12/29/2022 Received return e-mails from Christine Soliman, Primary Scientist (Meat
Processing), CDFA MPES regarding this complaint. She states that the MPES
"regulates the processing and sale of meat and poultry products that have been
processed by drying, curing, rendering, or smoking for preservation. All other
onsite retail meat sales (raw or marinated meat) would be regulated by the local
County, typically the Environmental Health Department." I then inquired about if he
considers himself to be wholesale, who would be the regulatory agency? She
responded: "Meat and poultry products that will be distributed and wholesale is
regulated by the US Dept of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Services.
USDA FSIS can be contacted using the information below:
USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Services:
Alameda District Office
Phone: (510) 337-5000; Ext. 1
https://www.fsis.usda.gov/inspection/inspection-programs/inspection-PoultrY -Produ
cts
https://www.fsis.usda.gov/contact-us/askfsis
I forwarded this information to DJ DjsTri-Tip <djstritip01@gmail.com>
See e-mails attached.
LINHARES
5105 rpt Page 1 of 2
