All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #37 Electrical Hazards MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The north pool light which is connected to the flood light near the wading pool did not have GFCI. <br />Provide functional GFCI for pool light immediately and email evidence of correction to dafonskaia@sjgov.org. Corrected on <br />site, temporarily the breaker switch for the pool light was switched off and will be kept off until a GFCI is installed. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Electrical equipment installed in the water, walls, deck, or equipment room of a public pool shall comply with <br />California Electrical Code. (CEC 680.4) Light fixtures installed in the pool that operate at more than 15 volts shall be protected by a ground <br />fault circuit interrupter. (CBC 3160B) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: Lacking keep closed sign on outer gate. Provide today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: The life ring did not have a throw rope. Provide and attach throw rope to life ring, length of rope must <br />span the maximum width of the pool. Correct today and email evidence of correction to dafonskaia@sjgov.org <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br /> #7 Pool Deck <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed damaged/cracked lid near shallow end side skimmer. Replace lid today. <br />Observed gaps and cracks in pool deck. Seal/repair and provide smooth surface free of trip and cut hazards. Correct within <br />2 weeks. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4-foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the <br />top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any <br />diving board, ADA device, or slide.
