All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed the life hook rescue pole and the life ring with throw rope were not in the pool area readily <br />available. Ensure safety equipment is maintained readily visible and available for use at all times. Per pool technician, the <br />life ring and life hook are brought out during hours of operation and taken down and stored inside storage room to protect <br />against theft. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br />OBSERVATIONS: Three handrails were observed loose. One handrail was repaired during the inspection. Repair/replace <br />the remaining handrails within three days. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br />handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed. At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br />above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 3111B) Pool <br />operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #12 pH Level <br />OBSERVATIONS: The swimming pool water’s pH was under 7.2. Adjust to 7.2 to 7.8. Pool tech adjusted pH during the <br />inspection. A second sample of pool water was tested toward the end of the inspection and observed at 7.2 pH. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #22 Skimmer Assembly <br />OBSERVATIONS: Four of the skimmers are lacking weir doors. Install weir doors in two weeks. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shall be equipped to provide continuous skimming of the pool water. All parts of the skimmer shall be <br />maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
