Tracy
APN: 209-25-023, SR0087011
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading Study (SSNL) amended on August 21, 2023 for the above noted location and has the following
comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment
system (OWTS) usage and the potential long-term nitrate loading impact to groundwater from the proposed
eight bedroom Single Family Dwelling.
Based on the information provided the EHD can make the following findings:
a. Based on the information provided the EHD finds that the SSNL Study does not support the suitability
for standard OWTS usage for the proposed eight bedroom Single Family Dwelling, pursuant to San
Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-604.010(d). Calculations for the eight bedroom dwelling
were provided and resulted of 10.8 ppm as nitrate-nitrogen which is not acceptable without an
engineering system to be required. However, a 2,000 gal tank and a 1,200 gal tank will be acceptable
to mitigate the excess of nitrate-nitrogen estimated to be generated.
b. Percolation test conducted on December 21, 2022 yielded a percolation rate of 30 min. At this rate, a
5 feet soil separation is required between bottom of dispersal field and the groundwater. Groundwater
was reported at 146±feet. (San Joaquin County OWTS Standard Table 1.10.2).
If you have any questions please contact Aldara Salinas, Environmental Health Specialist, at
asalinas(i)_slgov.orq, 209-616-3019.
r."
Steven Shin, REHS
Program Coordinator
CC: NATS 4713 Enterprise Way Suite 4, Modesto CA. 95356 (209) 545-1108
1868 E.
