SAN JOAQUIN Environmental Health Department
= f
COUNTY 1868 E. Hazelton Avenue
Greatness grows here. Stockton, California 95205
_. T 209 468-3420
F 209 468-0333
www.sjcehd.com
To whom it may concern,
I visited the 1-5 Inn (2210 S. Manthey Rd., Stockton, CA. 95206) on 9/17/2020 for an annual inspection. The
management was aware of my coming to inspect the business prior to my arrival. When I arrived, I observed a large
number of bees coming out of holes along the roof-edge of the building. I was informed by management that this issue
would be dealt with. In addition to several smaller violations, I observed water leaking from the ceiling above the first floor
hallway during my inspection. I was assured by management that repairs would be made, and a picture sent to confirm
them within the week. After not receiving a picture showing repairs, on 9/29/2020 1 made a surprise visit to the hotel. The
bee infestation was still present and, though the leak was repaired, there still remained a large hole in the ceiling. Later
that day I was sent a picture by the owner, Champ Patel, showing the hole repaired. It is due to this lack of concern about
immediate maintenance issues, that I feel that the 1-5 Inn should be approved for a permit only if subject to quarterly
inspections. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Michael Suszycki, REHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(209)468-3420 W&!3
