Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The life hook is not attached to the rescue pole. Immediately secure the life hook to the pole or face <br /> closure. <br /> Corrected on site. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br /> (CCR 65540) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The chlorine level of the pool water is 1.0ppm. Immediately increase the chlorine level to the range of 2.0 <br /> to 10.Oppm or face closure. <br /> Approximately 1/2 to 3/4 gallon of liquid chlorine was added. <br /> Chlorine level re-check: 2.6ppm <br /> Corrected on site. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine.
