Bloodborne Pathogen <br /> Exposure Control Plan <br /> Tantra Ink House of Permanent Makeup <br /> 445 West Weber Avenue, Suite 232 <br /> Stockton, Ca. 95203 <br /> Contact Person: Lynda Diaz 2096011326 <br /> FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP STUDIO <br /> Revised: May 15, 2023 <br /> Developed in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, <br /> 29 CFR 1910.1030 <br /> The infection and control plan shall be maintained current and updated whenever there are <br /> changes to any of the procedures or tasks listed and when new technology is adopted for use in <br /> the facility. <br /> PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this exposure control plan is to identify and minimize any and all occupational <br /> exposure to blood or other infectious body fluids by Contractors, Employees, Studio Clients, <br /> Tattoo Artists, Body Piercers, Apprentices, Managers or Owners. Other potentially infectious <br /> body fluids include: semen, vaginal secretions, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, <br /> peritoneal fluid, amniotic fluid, saliva in dental procedures, and any human tissue or other body <br /> fluids visibly contaminated with blood. <br /> RESPONSIBILITY <br /> Studio managers shall be responsible for ensuring their personnel comply with the provisions of <br /> this plan. All Tattooing or Body Piercing Studios are responsible for providing all necessary <br /> supplies such as personal protective equipment, soap, bleach, Hepatitis B vaccinations, etc. <br /> Most of these supplies are available through the Studio manager. Hepatitis B vaccinations can <br /> be administered through the Akron or Summit County Health Departments.All personnel shall <br /> routinely use appropriate barrier precautions to prevent skin and mucous membrane exposure <br /> when contact with blood or other body fluids is anticipated. The Studio manager or other such <br /> designated personnel shall be responsible for training employees, Tattoo Artists and Body <br /> Piercers, Apprentices and any and all other Personnel in bloodborne pathogen exposure control <br /> and for properly disposing of bio-hazardous waste. <br /> ENGINEERING AND WORK PRACTICE CONTROL <br /> Universal precautions shall be observed by all Studio personnel in order to prevent contact with <br /> blood or other potentially infectious materials. All blood or other potentially infectious <br /> materials shall be considered infectious regardless of the perceived status of the source <br /> individual. <br /> Engineering and work practice controls shall be utilized to eliminate or minimize exposure to <br /> employees, Studio clients, independent contractors and any others working at, with or through <br /> this Tattooing or Body Piercing Studio. <br /> 1. All personnel must wash their hands or other skin with soap and water, or flush mucous <br /> membranes with water, as soon as possible following an exposure incident (such as a <br /> splash of blood to the eyes or an accidental needle stick). <br /> 2. All personnel must wash their hands immediately (or as soon as feasible) after removal of <br />
