All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Free chlorine is 0.2 ppm. Provide free chlorine 2ppm- 10 ppm today. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Light fixture is not working. Replace light fixture in 1 week. Meanwhile post" NO SWIMMING AFTER <br /> DARK"till repair. <br /> "Sign is posted during my inspection." <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br /> pool. When a pool is used at night,pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br /> not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating"NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and shall <br /> secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (31156) <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Double and single hand rails are not Secured. Secure rails in 1 week. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br /> handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br /> above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 311 1B)Pool <br /> operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. Clean the pool today and as needed. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall maintain clean pool water while the pool is in use and shall not allow debris to accumulate <br /> in the pool. Pool operator shall clean the bottom, sides,and other surfaces of the pool as often as necessary to keep pool surfaces clean <br /> and free of slime and algae.
