Incident Report (Cont.)
Corrective Actions :
Corrective Actions :
Project Number: EM201146S3-JWM
Client File No :
On August 13, 2020, at approximately 10:53 a.m. CDT, a crew from AS arrived onsite. Following a site assessment, AS personnel noted
approximately 50 gallons of diesel fuel had been released to the asphalt and concrete surfaces of the parking lot in three (3) areas
measuring an approximate 10'x20'. The crew further noted facility personnel had contained the diesel fuel with granular absorbents and
absorbent booms. AS personnel deployed additional granular absorbents and worked in with hand tools. The crew then degreased and
pressure washed the diesel fuel -impacted asphalt and concrete surfaces of the parking lot until no visual or olfactory evidence of diesel fuel
remained on the asphalt surfaces. The diesel fuel -impacted rinsate was then collected by drum vac and containerized in 55 -gallon drums. A
representative from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health (SJCEH) CUPA, Mr. Jason Gaitan, inspected the site with AS personnel
and determined two (2) soil surfaces measuring one (1) sq ft each needed to be hand excavated. AS personnel utilized hand tools to
excavate the diesel fuel -impacted soil surfaces vertically and laterally until no visual or olfactory evidence of diesel fuel remained onsite. The
representative from SJCEH further inspected the site and determined no further actions necessary. All diesel fuel -impacted material, soil,
and rinsate was collected in five (5) 55 -gallon drums and staged onsite until disposal could be coordinated. AS personnel secured the site
and scheduled to return to collect the staged waste.
September 9, 2020, the crew from AS arrived onsite to collect the staged waste. The crew collected the five (5) 55 -gallon drums of diesel
fuel -impacted material, soil, and rinsate for transport and disposal. AS personnel secured the site and demobilized.
F .
