Any individual installing underground storage systems or components must possess , or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site at all times while work is being performed who possesses , all of the following : • One of several permissible valid , current contractor licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB ) • A current UST Installation / Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code Council ( ICC ) • A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer( s) of the component ( s) being installed 5 . Any individual performing the work of a service technician must possess , or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site at all times while work is being performed who possesses , all of the following : • One of several permissible valid , current contractor licenses issued by the CSLB • A current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the ICC • A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the component (s ) being tested , or the developer of the testing equipment or test method (s) being used 6 . Individuals working under the direct supervision of a qualified UST installer or UST service technician must , at a minimum , be employed by the person with the CSLB license and possess all manufacturer certificates of training for the equipment on which they are working . 7 . The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System ( CERS ) at http : //cers . calepa . ca . ,qov/ and ensure all UST information is current . 8 . All primary containment including any integral secondary containment must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as required by the organization ( UL , ULC , ANSI , API , ASTM , etc. ) . See California Code of Regulations ( CCR) Title 23 , Chapter 16 , Table B for a complete list . 9 . All secondary containment system which is not an integral part of the primary containment shall be designed and constructed according to an engineering specification approved by a state registered professional engineer or according to a nationally recognized industry code or engineering standard , per CCR 2631 (d) . 10 . This permit expires 180 days from the date of approval . If an extension to the expiration date is required , a written request must be submitted to this office prior to the expiration date .
