Site Health and Safety Plan <br />19133 East Liberty Road, Clements, California <br />August 16, 2022 <br />Page 26 <br /> <br />Sharp Environmental Technologies, Inc. <br />• To take appropriate action in consultation with the SHSS, upon becoming aware of any <br />deficiency in the implementation of SHSP; <br />• To become the incident commander during any site emergency until relieved by the <br />appropriate chain in command. <br />In the event that the PM becomes aware of a deficiency in the implementation of the SHSP, he/she will <br />take appropriate action by consulting with the SHSS. <br />7.2 Site Health and Safety Supervisor <br />The SHSS is the individual located at the site, which is responsible to SET and has the authority and <br />knowledge necessary to implement this SHSP and verify compliance with applicable safety and health <br />requirements. In general, the SHSS is responsible for personnel at the site who are under the direction <br />and control of SET. In addition, the SHSS is responsible for the following: <br />• To observe personnel under the direction and control of SET as well as authorized visitors for <br />indications of impaired health due to contaminant exposure, heat stress, or other hazards; <br />• To evaluate whether site conditions present hazards not previously predicted or expected; <br />• To inspect Personal Protective Equipment and verify its use; <br />• To assist the PM with onsite implementation of this SHSP, including performing air monitoring, <br />maintaining safety equipment supplies and setting up site control and decontamination <br />stations; <br />• To make daily assessments of health and safety practices at the site and administer the health <br />and safety program outlined in this SHSP. <br />• To conduct the required tailgate safety meetings for all designated personnel permitted to enter <br />the contaminated area (i.e., the exclusion zone) regarding potential hazards, personal hygiene <br />principles, PPE and emergency response procedures; and; <br />• To investigate all accidents, health and safety complaints, and violations/infractions of safety <br />rules and/or the requirements of this SHSP and report findings to PM; <br />• To inform the PM of all safety and health hazards at the site that pose a serious and/or <br />imminent threat; and <br />• To coordinate emergency response procedures and site evacuations. <br />The SHSS will have authority to suspend work or modify work practices under the direction and <br />control of SET for safety reasons and to dismiss individuals under the direction and control of SET <br />whose conduct on site endangers the health and safety of others. The SHSS will report directly to the <br />PM. <br />8. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br />The purpose of PPE is to isolate or protect personnel from the chemical and physical hazards that may <br />be encountered at during site activities. The amount and type of PPE required will be based on the <br />nature of the hazard encountered or anticipated.
