SAMPLING AND TEST PROCEDURES
ARCADY MUD DISPOSAL SITE
10/1/87
SOIL SAMPLING:
- On-Site -
Soil samples will be taken from the location of the earlier
borings numbered B-7 , B-10, and B-11 on Figure 1 . Where-ever possible
these samples will be taken from a backhoexk avation as follows:
-1) A composite sample of the waste material from the surface to 6 }
inches above the base of the drill muds;
-2) A composite of the lower 6 inches of the waste material
immidiately overlying the basal soil.
-3) Approximately 2 feet below the base of the waste pit taken by i
vibra-coring a small core of the underlying soil from the base
of the backhoe excavation.
Field logs for each excavation will be made by a geologist, and
field measurements for pH will be made. Samples will be taken from
the cleaned walls of the backhoe excavation using stainless steel pick I
or shovel, placed in a stainless steel bucket, homogenized and split
into replicate samples. Wherever possible sufficent sample will be
taken to allow for both check analysis and future analyses such as CAM
related testing. The samples will be placed in plastic sacks (for the
basal soil samples a sealed brass tube for hydrocarbon analysis will
i
C
EM i
CONDOR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT COMPANY
i
i
i
