3

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The analytical results indicate that except for PCE, the MCLs for drinking water were not exceeded in
the groundwater samples collected. MCLs are standards set by the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and the State of California for drinking water quality. An MCL is the legal
threshold limit on the amount of a substance that is allowed in public water systems under the Safe
Drinking Water Act.

Forward has been working cooperatively with the CVRWQCB on groundwater investigations in the
area. In addition, the Landfill has been working with the CVRWQCB to control and reduce any
identified VOCs which include a variety of man-made chemicals commonly associated with certain
kinds of household waste. Forward continues to proactively monitor and sample groundwater wells
at a number of residential properties near the Landfill.

CLOSURE

AUS and Forward thank you for participating in this sampling program.
