Mariposa Road
Stockton, CA 95215

SUBJECT:
Results of Well Monitoring

DATE:
October 31, 2023

INTRODUCTION

Arcadis U.S. Inc. (AUS) prepared this letter report on behalf of Forward Incorporated (Forward) to
summarize water quality monitoring results for samples collected from the well used to supply
groundwater for the property located at 12226 E. Mariposa Road, Stockton, CA 95215 (Figure 1). The
samples were collected as part of the domestic well sampling program being performed under the
direction of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) of the State Water
Resources Control Board to better understand the groundwater quality in the area and help
evaluate the progress of an on-going groundwater investigation for the Forward Landfill.

As you may know, Forward acquired the City of Stockton’s landfill in 2000. As a condition of that
acquisition, Forward agreed to address existing and potential future groundwater contamination
caused by the City’s landfill operations, which go back to 1954. Since that acquisition, Forward has
been working cooperatively with the CVRWQCB to conduct groundwater investigations and to
control and reduce identified volatile organic compounds associated with the landfill. Together,
Forward and the CVRWQCB continue to proactively monitor and sample groundwater wells at
several residential properties located near the landfill.

SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS

On September 18, 2023, a representative of Forward visited the property at the address identified
above and received permission from you to participate in the domestic well sampling program. After
receiving permission, a groundwater sample was collected from a sample port next to the
well/water tank. The well sampling data sheet and laboratory report are attached.

Approximately 80 gallons of water was discharged from the sample point prior to collecting the
groundwater sample. Before collecting the sample, the temperature, pH, and conductivity of the
groundwater were measured and recorded on the well sampling data sheet. After these
parameters were measured, a sample was collected for laboratory analysis to test whether volatile
