All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Diarrhea signs were not located at both entrances to area of a pool. The pool operator shall post at both entrance areas of a public pool, which clearly states that persons with diarrhea and persons who have had diarrhea within the prior 14 days shall not enter the pool water. Correct in a week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 31208) #7 Pool Deck OBSERVATIONS: Damaged coping observed near 3' depth marker. Repair / replace pool coping. Correct within one month. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4-foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any diving board, ADA device, or slide. (CBC 3114B) Pool operator shall keep the pool deck well maintained. (CCR 65535) #14 Chemical Water Test Kit OBSERVATIONS: Chemical Water Test Kit was not available on site during inspection. Provide Chemical Water Test Kit. Correct immediately. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain a test kit for measuring the disinfectant residual, combined chlorine, pH, and cyanuric acid (if used) at the pool. Test kit shall be available at all times the pool is in use. Chlorine and bromine test kits shall be DPD type. Chlorine test kits shall be capable of testing for free and total chlorine, so that combined chlorine concentrations can be determined. (CCR 65529) #15 Operation Records OBSERVATIONS: Operational records were not available on site during time of inspection. Provide/create operational records and maintain daily while pool is open to the public. Correct immediately. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall test the disinfectant residual, pH, and spa water temperature a minimum of once per day. Cyanuric acid concentration shall be tested once per month if cyanuric acid is used. Combined chlorine shall be tested as often as necessary to maintain the concentration below 0.4 ppm. Pool operator shall maintain written records of all maintenance and test results for at least two years and shall submit those records to the enforcement agency upon request.
