Reviewed chipped and ground wood product Article 7 metals, pathogen reduction and <br /> physical contamination sampling and analysis records for the first and second quarters of <br /> 2023. This product, if being land applied, must be tested once per 5000 cubic yards and a <br /> minimum of once a year. This facility ships this product to vendors using it as mulch (land <br /> applied) and also to a co-gen power facility (not land applied). Regulation reference: Title 14 <br /> CCR section 17862.1. <br /> The analytical results from the first quarter passed the regulatory requirements for physical <br /> contaminants, metals and Salmonella sp. The results failed the regulatory requirement for <br /> fecal coliform with a result of 5350 MPN/g (>1000 MPN/g). The product, represented by <br /> this sample, cannot be land applied but can go to the co-gen facility. <br /> The analytical results from the second quarter were incomplete with Mercury (metal) and fecal <br /> coliform results not provided to San Joaquin County Environmental Health Dept (EHD). In <br /> the first two quarters of 2023, the facility shipped 8 tons (32 cubic yards) off-site for land <br /> application and 2957 tons (11828 cubic yards) off-site for co-gen fuel. <br /> 5. Reviewed compost product Article 7 metals, pathogen reduction and physical <br /> contamination sampling and analysis records for the first and second quarters of 2023. The <br /> facility could not provide the first quarter Salmonella records for the compost product. All <br /> compost product Article 7 records provided passed the regulatory requirements. Be sure to <br /> test quarterly for Salmonella sp., fecal coliform, the required metals and physical <br /> contaminants. <br /> 6.
