kitchen as it is considered a dietary substance. Cottage Food permits are only for home kitchens. For the sea moss
jellies you would need to contact the CDPH Processed Food Branch for approval first (please see the attached email I
sent you last October). The link is here:
https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CEH/DFDCS/Pages/FDBPrograms/FoodSafetyProgram/ProcessedFoodRegistration.a
spx.
If you have any further questions you can contact Kadeanne Linhares. She is working on the renewal and is cc'd on this
email. You can also call her at 209-616-3025.
Best Regards,
Lydia Baker
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County I Environmental Health Department
1868 E. Customers can apply for
permits, make payments, and monitor the status of their project 24 hours a day, seven days a
week. On July 13, 2023, at 12:00 we will start transitioning from our current software and will
manually intake permits until close of business on July 14, 2023.
From: Daryl Charles <dcharles@wincrestlogistics.com >
Sent: Wednesday, March 6, 2024 4:07 PM
To: Baker, Lydia [EHD] <lbaker@sigov.org>
Cc: Ramirez, Stephanie [EHD] <sramirez@sigov.org>; Carruesco, Jeff [EHD] <icarruesco@sigov.org>
Subject: RE: CFO Permit
Afternoon Lydia!
I hope that all is well with you and yours!
I am writing to seek clarification on our CFO permit renewal. We submitted our renewal in the exact format as our initial
application and we were rejected and I do not understand why?
In 2022 and 2023 we went through extensive communications to finally have our CFO approved for dried repackaging of
Sea Moss and for our home baked goods. We understood the requirements to produce the Sea Moss Jellies and
obtained a pay as you go residency with the our County's commercial kitchen. Our system is set, tested and in place for
our launch this Spring. We paid for licensing and Insurance last year, and a renewal for both license and insurance this
year and we have not worked a market yet... and now CFO not renewed.
4
