XIV - Section 7301 - Filter requirements general. <br />41••••11V•11.10 <br /> 1. Appr3ved filters according to standards required by State Department of <br />Public Health and Local Health District. <br />XV - Section 7802 - Rapid sand prossure filters <br />1. Filter rate not to exceed three (3) gpm/ sq. ft. Backwash rate not loss <br />than twelve (12) gpm/ sq.ft. <br />4L.AL, <br /> 2. Media: At least twenty (20) inches depth of filter sand, not less.than <br />ten (10) inches filter gravel above the underdrain system. <br />Effective sand size three tenths (.3) to five tenths (.5) millimeters <br />graded gravel and placed as per paragraph (d) of this Section 7802. <br />Sight glass on waste discharge line. <br />a. Air release valve at high point of filter. <br />.4LL,b. Adequate facilities with dosage control for adding coagulating. <br />chemicals ahead of filter. <br />c. Filter piping valved for separate filter backwashing and for filter <br />isolation for repairs while other units in service. <br />XVI - Section 7803 - Diatomaceous earth filters <br />Filter rate, two (2) gpm/sq. ft., maximum of two and one half (21) gpm/ <br />sq. ft., if continuous feeding of filter aid material provided for. <br />Peels with surface area of 2,000 sq. ft., or more and heavily used pools <br />shall have continuous feeding of 41ter aid material,to filter influent <br />at a minimum rate of 0.1 pounds per square foot of filter area over a <br />twenty four (24) hour period. <br />J. Materials adequate to withstand normal continuous use without deterioration, <br />shall be used. <br />L. Provision for convenient filter cleaning shall be provided. <br />Preszure-type u.nitl pnmps shall deliver full required capacity at a bead' <br />loss of sixty (60) percent or more of such capacity at seventy (70) <br />feet head loss thru the discharge lines. <br />Vaeuum-type unit, pump shall have filter flow at a vacuum gauge reading <br />of sixteen. (16) inches of mercury to provide for suction head plus head loss <br />thru the discharge piping and fittings. <br />XVII - Section 7804 - Other filters (sufficient factual data shall be submitted to <br />health officer for approval or disapproval) <br />XVIII - Section 7835- Suction cleaner and piping for all recirculating type <br />swimming pools. <br />.1111•••••••• <br /> 1.
