Erosion was not seen in spite of the rains of February 5th through the Stn
Lack of erosion attests to the less severe rain in February and the success of the erosion repairs after the
intense storm of November 22, 2013 (see attached photos).
noted a few areas that could be optimized. The location of one of the new berms placed to provide quicker
diversion of surface water into the concrete -lined ditch could be adjusted as you mentioned. This can be
done once that soil is completely dry, possibly in May or June.
Hydro -seeding is more or less successful, depending on the slope and direction which the slope faces: north -
facing slopes seem to be flourishing, whereas flatter areas appear to be struggling due to lack of water
earlier in the year. We will hydro -seed areas that do not appear.to show successful growth in mid -autumn,
as is recommended by our hydro -seeding contractor. Once the seed is in place, we will rely on seasonal
rains to promote growth.
If you have any questions, please call me at (209) 468-8504.
Sincerely,
W.
