HAZELTON AVENUE <br />STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 86201 <br />(209)468.3000 FAX(209)468-2999 <br />www.s(gworg/Pubwo" <br />SUBJECT: CORRAL HOLLOW LANDFILL INSPECTION REPORT DATED MARCH 20, 2014 <br />Dear Mr. McClellon: CO <br />In the inspection report of March 20, 2014 for Corral Hollow Landfill, your office issued a violation for <br />the presence of soil piles on the top deck of the landfill. <br />The piles in question were excavated during the closure cap extension project from an area to the <br />northeast of the facility. This soil is considered uncontaminated, in contrast to the soils which were <br />contaminated either by refuse or refuse ash, which were exported off the site. <br />The County intends to use this soil for long-term post -closure maintenance pursuant to Section <br />20950 (a)(2)(A)(2) of Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations; to repair subsidence and erosion <br />that might occur at the closed landfill. This soil was staged at a central location for easy access in <br />case of future need. <br />As discussed in our recent telephone conversation, to address the violation the County will relocate <br />the piles off the top deck to a lower elevation as shown on the attached figure 1 (attached). <br />Please feel free to call me at 953-7316, if you have any questions or concerns. <br />Sincerely <br />Taj M.
