All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public <br /> health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJC' <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Free chlorine at the spa was 0.5 ppm at the beginning of the inspection then was adjusted by staff to higher <br /> than 10 ppm.Adjust chlorine to 3 ppm to 10 ppm. Ensure the automatic feeder is dispensing to maintain 3- 10 ppm chlorine. <br /> Close spa until the corrections are made and verified by this department. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools,when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall <br /> maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid,2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with <br /> cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas,wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to <br /> 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. Repair/replace handrails within five days <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool.Ladders and <br /> handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a <br /> point above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck.
