All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public <br />health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa's free chlorine was observed at 0.5 PPM then was adjusted to 8 PPM during the inspection. <br />Maintain free chlorine concentration at 3 PPM to 10 PPM. Corrected on site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall <br />maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with <br />cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to <br />10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br />This is (Major) Violation. <br />MAJOR <br /> #12 pH Level <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa's pH was observed at 7.0. After the pool maintenance worker corrected the chlorine concentration, <br />the spa's pH level was observed at 8.0. Adjust the water's pH level to 7.2 - 7.8. Close spa until the pH has been corrected and <br />verified by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br />This is (Major) Violation. <br />MAJOR <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa light and GFI switch were not tested. Per the pool maintenance worker, they are solar. If they are <br />no longer electrical, provide a letter to this department that states the electrical lines have been disconnected at the junction <br />box. Correct within one week. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of <br />the pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck <br />lighting is not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and <br />shall secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark.
