9
6. Results of Sampling
Sampling was performed in accordance with procedures described in the Field Investigation
Work Plan (reference Appendix A). The investigation Work Plan is based on the EPA one time
sampling and analysis event publication. Analytical results from samples taken were organized
by constituents (per property) and a statistical analysis performed (based on normal distribution
assumptions) to compare the upper limit value of an 80 percent confidence interval to regulatory
threshold values established by Title 22, California Code of Regulations (CCR), for each
constituent. The California hazardous threshold values used for California Administrative
Manual (CAM) 17 Metals were the Total Threshold Limit Concentration (TTLC) and Soluble
Threshold Limit Concentration Values (STLC) per Title 22 CCR. The table below lists the types
of analysis performed and the types of samples analyzed. Appendix F contains laboratory
analytical result reports and chain-of-custody/laboratory request forms.
EPA Test Method Parameter/Characteristic Sample
Type
EPA test method
8015M, (C6-C44
carbon chain
identification)
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons Discrete
EPA test method
6010/7471
Cd, Cr, Ni, Pb, and Zn (CAM 5
metals)
Discrete
EPA test method
6010/7471 CAM 17 metals Discrete
EPA test method
8270C
Semi-volatile organic
compounds (PAHs)
Discrete
EPA test method
8260B Volatile organic compounds Discrete
EPA test method
8082
Organochlorine pesticides and
polychlorinated biphenyls
PCBs)
Discrete
EPA test method
8290 Dioxins/furans Discrete
EPA test method
6010/7471 (WET) (SPLP/STLC) Discrete
The following tables extracted from Appendix G contain the results of metals testing and
statistical analysis for lead for each of the properties and for the overall Site. An analysis
for each of the analytes is located in the tables that make up Appendix G.
