List the types of Medical Waste generated at your facility <br /> • Biohazardous waste <br /> • Sharps(needles,syringes, blades etc.) <br /> • Pharmaceutical waste(expired, spend, partials) <br /> • Pathological and surgical waste <br /> • Trace Chemotherapy waste <br /> 2. Estimate the monthly amount of medical waste generated at your facility <br /> • Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Office generates approximately 32 G (average of Jan <br /> through Dec 2020)pounds/month of Medical Waste(Excluding Pharmaceutical Waste). <br /> • Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Offices generates approximately 7 45 (average of <br /> Jan through Dec 2020)pounds/month of Pharmaceutical Waste. <br /> • This facility is La rge Quantity Generator <br /> 3. Describe the medical waste handling procedures utilized by and applicable to your <br /> facility <br /> (a) Onsite location and method for segregation,containment,packaging,labeling,and <br /> collection ,including pharmaceutical waste: <br /> • All medical waste is separated and disposed at the point of origin. <br /> • Waste will be contained in either red bag(biohazardous)/yellow bag(trace <br /> chemotherapy)/white bag(pathology)and/or ridged containers(pharmaceutical/ <br /> sharps)with lids. <br /> • This facility utilizes reusable/recyclable pharmaceutical sharps containers through <br /> our waste hauler-Stericycle Reusable Sharps Program. <br /> • Waste will be labeled on all sides and top to be visible from any lateral direction. <br /> • Reusable rigid carts/containers are used to transport medical waste from the <br /> department to the accumulation area. <br /> • All containers shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. <br /> • Transport carts/containers are lined with plastic liners and when liners are removed <br /> they are placed in a biohazardous bag. <br /> • Carts will be cleaned according to Environmental Services(EVS)/Infection Control <br /> cleaning procedures for medical waste carts. <br /> ■ A person shall thoroughly wash and decontaminate reusable rigid carts/ <br /> containers for medical waste by a method approved by the enforcement agency <br /> each time they are emptied, unless the surfaces of the containers have been <br /> completely protected from contamination by disposable liners, bags, or other <br /> devices removed with the waste. <br /> ■ Approved methods of decontamination include,but are not limited to,agitation <br /> to remove visible soil combined with one of the following procedures: <br />
