All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />#1 Pool Gates MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: One of the entrance gates to the pool enclosure latches intermittently (it will latch then not latch the next <br />time it is opened and closed). To prevent closure by this Department, lock this gate to all residents until the gate is repaired <br />to proper function. <br />Closure condition <br />Corrected on site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br />Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br />except where otherwise prohibited bylaw. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br />maintained. (CCR 65535) <br />#4 Safety Equipment <br /> MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The life ring lacks a throw rope. Obtain a throw rope and attach it to the life ring immediately to avoid <br />closure by this Department. <br />Closure condition. <br />Corrected on site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br />#7 Pool Deck <br />OBSERVATIONS: There are some gaps in the pool deck (in between the coping stones and the concrete). Fill in gaps by 1 <br />month. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4-foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the <br />top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any <br />diving board, ADA device, or slide. (CBC 3114B) Pool operator shall keep the pool deck well maintained.
