• <br /> Instruments are packaged for sterilization as follows: <br /> Stainless Steel Must be disassembled prior to Peel pack <br /> tubes,grips,tips, cleaning and remain apart when <br /> and fasteners packaged for sterilization. <br /> Jewelry Individually packaged Peel pack <br /> Hinged Tools Must be in "open" position Peel pack <br /> Non-hinged Tools Individually packaged Peel pack <br /> Sterilized packs must be labeled with the date, load number, initials of the person sterilizing, <br /> and the contents of the pack(unless it has a clear window on one side). <br /> Only equipment manufactured for the sterilization of medical instruments shall be used. <br /> Describe the 3 instances you would use a commercial biological indicator monitoring system <br /> (spore test) in your sterilization load: <br /> 1. Monthly check to ensure that the autoclave is performing properly. <br /> 2. After the initial installation and setup. <br /> 3. After any major repair or maintenance performed on the autoclave. <br /> Biological indicators monitoring test results shall be recorded in a log that shall be kept on site <br /> for 2 years after the date of the results. <br /> Each sterilization load shall: <br /> A) Be monitored with mechanical indicators for time, temperature and pressure <br /> B) Include a Class V integrator <br /> C) Each sterilization pack shall have an indicator <br /> Describe how you load your sterilizer/tray and where you place your Class V integrator in each <br /> load: <br /> Packaged items will be loosely placed together on tray so that items are stacked on their sides <br /> with paper facing clear plastic area of each bag.
