Outline
Section #3:
Hazardous Waste &
Universal Waste
Management
40 CFR
262.16(b)(9)(iii) &
22 CCR 66273.36
Section #2:
Hazardous Materials
Business Plans
HSC 25505(a)(4)
Section #1:
Hazard
Communication
8 CCR 5194
This training program is divided into three sections. Section one of the training program will
cover the hazard communication training requirements mandated by the Division of
Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), which is better known as Cal/OSHA. Hazard
communication training is commonly referred to as “Employee Right‐to‐Know” because
workers have the right to know what hazards are present in the workplace and how to
protect themselves.
Section two will cover the emergency response plans and the procedures that will be taken
in case of a hazardous materials release. This training is required for employees who work
at a facility that must prepare and submit a Hazardous Materials Business Plan, or HMBP.
SUSD’s high schools, Corporate Yard, and Warehouse have all prepared and implemented
Hazardous Materials Business Plans for the hazardous materials handled on‐site.
We will also cover the standards for employees who generate or manage hazardous waste
as part of their job duties.
Hazardous waste and universal waste management will be covered in section three of the
training program.
You must review every slide and pass an assessment quiz, which will require score of at
least 70%, in order to receive credit for completion of this training program.
3
