All of the calculations are based
on the site data you have provided to us and on nominal engineering values for the
physical parameters.
All of the calculations are based on standard engineering practice. We use approaches
in a manner similar to the protocols presented in the PEI/RP 100-20 manual to
calculate the underground tank Buoyancy Safety Factors.
It is the tank owner's responsibility to determine the suitability and applicability of
installation. Our sole responsibility in any installation is as stated in our Limited Warranty.
Our calculations show that, given the installation parameters that you have provided to
us (calculated with the tank empty, burial depth of 5.5 feet, the water table at the
same elevation as finished grade, and using the factory-supplied anchoring system) the
Buoyancy Safety Factors are as follows:
Tank Buoyancy Safety Factor
24,000 x 6,000-gallon 1.51:1
15,000 x 15,000-gallon 1.51:1
We recommend a minimum Buoyancy Safety Factor of 1.20:1. I have included copies of
the worksheets for your files.
If we can be of additional assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Jef rey Lexvold
Senior Applications Engineer
Attachments - 2
Xerxes Corporation 1-952-887-1890
7901 Xerxes Avenue S,Suite 201 xerxes.com
Minneapolis,MN 55431-1288 mattr.com
