Hazelton Avenue 1
Stockton, Ca
Attention: Ray Borges
Subject: APPLICATION FOR PERMIT .
MONITORING WELLS
STOCKTON PAPER MILL
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is to provide additional information on construction of 3
monitoring wells to be located at The Paper Mill at the Port of Stockton in Stockton,
California. The permit for the drilling has been previously submitted, however at this
time we have been asked to provide additional information regarding the construction
of the monitoring wells.
C---,
The 3 wells will be approximately 50 feet in depth. The borings for these wells have
i
been previously drilled and it is our intention to get the holes in order to allow a 3
f
inch PVC pipe to be inserted the depth of the well. Connected to the PVC pipe will k
be a 1 inch PVC grout tube which will extend the entire depth. The bottom of the
grout tube will be left open for outing purposes. However the bottom of 3 inch
PVC pipe will be kept open.
Adl
We understand that sounding information must be provided. At the time of our field
explorations which occured during the last couple of weeks, groundwater was
encountered at depths ranging from 17 to 21 feet. We anticipate the groundwater
elevation to be approximately at that depth. For your information we have included a
drawing of the location of the three monitoring wells. It is our intention to grout the
monitoring well today being March 8, 1990 . It is our understanding that we have
previously provided the necessary requirements for the permits at the Port of Stockton
a
Paper Mill.
