The <br /> digestion completely dissolves the samples and the lead present is broken down in its elemental form. <br /> For silicate bound structures an additional digestion procedure is necessary for total digestion (method <br /> 3052) but, unless crystalline silicate bound, not for Lead. <br /> Based on the lead data provided and Scott's clarification that crystalline silicate-bound structures, such <br /> as those found in quartz and granite, were not present in the site soil, additional analysis for the organic <br /> form of Lead would not be necessary. <br />
