Water Sampling needed: <br /> The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) requires well sampling as part <br /> of the permitting process for any new or replacement domestic well. San Joaquin County Well <br /> Standards section 9-9.2.1* states "To determine quality of water produced by a new water well, it <br /> shall be sampled by the EHD for bacteriological and chemical analysis after development, the <br /> installation of the well pump, and disinfection." The cost of sampling was included with the well <br /> permit issuance and it will be done by the area inspector. <br /> 2. A pump permit has not been submitted for newest well, it is required to be obtained by <br /> owner or contractor. <br /> (SJC Ord. Code, Section 9-1115.3. —Well Pump Permit Required) <br /> • Corrective Action: Obtain a pump permit. A double fee is required for conducting <br /> work without a permit ($344). However, please pay the regular fee of $172 before <br /> 7/1/2025. <br /> 3. Dry well needs to be destroyed under permits. <br /> A well that is not in use, must be destroyed or put out of service. CA Health & Safety Code, Section <br /> 115700(a)(b)(d); CA Health & Safety Code, Section 115710; SJC Ord. Code, Title 9, Section 9- <br /> 1115.5 —Well Regulations, SJC Water Well Standards, Section 6.1. <br /> • Corrective Action: A licensed contractor is required to destroy the well.
