Shelter-In-Place <br /> ❑ In the event that the facility receives notification from the <br /> local Police Department (or other responsible agency) to <br /> shelter-in-place due to an off-site emergency situation (i.e. a <br /> chemical spill adjacent to the facility), the IC will initiate <br /> actions to shelter-in-place. <br /> ❑ The IC shall assess the potential impacts the emergency <br /> situation may have on the facility and if warranted, the IC <br /> shall proceed with coordinating the communications and/or <br /> other appropriate actions with the facility. All facility <br /> employees should be directed to remain inside the facility <br /> until notified by the IC that it is safe to leave. If the facility is <br /> required to shelter-in-place facility employees will be directed <br /> by the IC to shut off all heating, ventilation, exhaust, and air <br /> conditioning systems (shut off main power), close all exterior <br /> doors & windows, and cover ground level openings if time <br /> permits. <br />
