I’ve attached a copy of our permit guidance document for reference. The answers to your <br />questions are below. <br /> <br />1. If no new underground tanks will be installed, the permit type would be a UST Retrofit – Full Permit. This <br />would use the UST Retrofit permit application – specifically pages 2, 3, and 4 only: <br />https://www.sjgov.org/docs/default-source/environmental-health-documents/underground-storage- <br />tanks-(ust)/ust-repair-or-retrofit.pdf?sfvrsn=67ed5e44_5. <br /> <br />An application form should also be submitted with the application: https://www.sjgov.org/docs/default- <br />source/environmental-health-documents/underground-storage-tanks-(ust)/ust-service- <br />request.pdf?sfvrsn=9923400a_5. <br /> <br />The submittal should also include relevant training certifications, cut sheets, and plans. <br /> <br />Online payment can be made here: https://www.sjgov.org/department/envhealth/fees/online-fee- <br />payment. <br /> <br />2. No closure permit is required unless an underground tank is being removed. All work will be covered under <br />the Retrofit permit. <br /> <br />3. Our maximum review time is still 15 business days from receipt of the adequately completed plan. Please <br />note that this is also not an approval time. If a deficiency list is issued, the review time will restart with each <br />additional submittal made. <br /> <br />4. All appointment notifications and test result submittals should be made directly to our UST email <br />(ust@sjgov.org). It reaches a large number of people and is continuously monitored. An inspector from our <br />department will be on site for inspections/testing, but it may not be the same inspector who approves the <br />permit.
