Hire licensed hazardous waste contractor <br />E. FACILITY EVACUATION <br />The facility is often unstaffed. If occupied, personnel must exit the facility immediately. The following alarm <br />signal(s) will be used to begin evacuation of the facility: <br />1. Verbal (i.e., shouting). <br />2. Internal (Bell) alarms are placed at some telecommunications sites and will sound upon loss of power or <br />when site is “Off Air”. <br />3. Audible alarms and strobe lights may also be present to indicate an emergency. <br /> <br />The following location(s) is/are evacuee emergency assembly area (s): <br />1. For Field Technicians working in the field, return to vehicle and or parking lot area, at a safe distance from <br />potential release, spill, fire, or explosion. <br />2. Employees at staffed facilities are to exit through any marked emergency exit unless specified to avoid a <br />specific door or part of the building to the staging area as indicated on the facility map. <br />3. The Emergency Coordinator will account for employees, contractors at any visitors at the staging area and <br />will greet and brief first responders. <br />4. Contact management, NOCC or BME and emergency services if required. <br /> <br />If appropriate for the emergency, the Emergency Coordinator will shut off any active power by turning off the <br />power plant if the power plant room has not been compromised. <br />F. ARRANGEMENTS FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />Explanation of Requirement: Have been established with a national vendor CURA for any spill or release of the <br />following: Lead Acid Batteries and Fuel Storage Tanks (Diesel, Propane and Hydrogen) <br />CURA can be reached at 800-579-2872 24 hours. National vendors are also established for emergency equipment <br />and materials. <br />Medical or Hospital services will be selected and utilized by distance, facility, and staff to provide treatment for <br />injury at time of need by any field technician, management, or contracted vendor at location of site or traveling <br />to/from location. <br />G. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT <br />Safety and First Aid, Fire Fighting or Spill Control and Clean-Up: <br />1. Safety glasses, goggles, shields (ANSI rating) <br />2. Hard hats (ANSI rating) <br />3. First aid kits (OSHA approved) <br />4. Portable fire extinguishers (A-B-C rating) <br />5. Telephones (mobile phone) <br /> <br />All material (s) and items listed above should be replaced if broken, damaged, used, destroyed, or contaminated <br />and can be found within each Field Technician’s vehicle with their person(s). <br />H.
