TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
YOUR TATTOO WAS CAREFULLY CREATED BY A PROFESSIONAL TO ENSURE A TOP QUALITY TATTOO, THE
REST IS UP TO YOU. PLEASE STRICTLY FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE HEALING
PROCESS OF THIS TATTOO TO ENSURE MAXIMUM RESULTS AND TO AVOID AN ERROR ON YOUR PART.
1. Leave your fresh tattoo bandaged for at least 2-6 hours.
2. Do NOT leave your tattoo wrapped overnight.
3. With clean hands, carefully remove the bandage. If the bandage is sticking to your tattoo, you may find wetting
the bandage is helpful.
4. Wash the tattoo thoroughly (but without scrubbing) using only a fragrance free anti-bacterial soap, your clean
fingertips, and clean running water.
5. Rinse the tattoo thoroughly and gently pat dry using a clean disposable towel. Do NOT use a washcloth or
anything abrasive to wash your tattoo (no scrubbing).
6. Never wipe your tattoo while drying (use gentle pats only).
7. Never re-bandage your tattoo.
8. After each cleaning, apply a small amount of Aquafor to the tattoo area.
9. Continue cleaning your new tattoo this way 2-3 times daily for the first 2 weeks unless otherwise specified by
your artist.
It is advisable to wear clean, old, loose fitting, comfortable clothing over the tattooed are during the first night, as your
new tattoo may secrete excess pigment and/or blood. Tattoos normally stain sheets and clothes during the first night.
During the healing process. It is normal for the tattoo to feel itchy. It is also normal for smalls pieces of the skin containing
pigment to flake off, especially during cleansing. Do not attempt to intentionally remove these. NEVER PICK OR
SCRATCH. Try to wear clean, soft, loose, and comfortable clothing over your tattoo while it heals.
PROPER HEALING OF THE TATTOO IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
For the duration of surface healing (approx. 2 weeks):
Always keep your tattoo and surrounding area clean.
DO NOT touch your tattoo other than during cleaning.
DO NOT submerge the tattooed area in any type of standing water.
DO NOT pick or scratch your tattoo.
DO NOT expose your tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds.
PLEASE refrain from physical activity.
PLEASE refrain from physical contact with animals.
PLEASE refrain from gardening.

Tattoos generally heal quickly. If you have any complications, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR ARTIST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

DISCLAIMER: These guidelines are based on vast professional experience, common sense, research, and extensive experience. This is
not to be considered a substitute for medical advice from a doctor.
