Prevention of Cross Contamination: Describe the techniques used to prevent the contamination <br /> of instruments, tattoo machine, trays, tables, chairs, clip cords, power supplies, squeeze bottles, <br /> inks, pigments, lamps, stools, soaps and the procedure site or other items during a body art <br /> procedure. Include barriers provided to prevent cross contamination. Describe how the <br /> procedure site is prepared for a body art procedure. (California Health and Safety Code 119308, <br /> 119309, and 119311 (c)(d)(e)(f)) <br /> Procedures will be performed in designated work area: all sinks, counters, surfaces, chairs, tables and lamps <br /> will be kept clean and sanitized according to state law. All machines and instruments will be cleaned and <br /> sanitized according to state standards. Only commercially available single-use pigments or individual portions <br /> of pigments will be used in clean disposable containers for each client. Afterward, pigments will be discarded <br /> Single-use pre-sterilized needles will be used for each client. Materials used will be stored in clean and dry <br /> containers and cabinets. Floors will be swept and mopped daily. No food or drinks will be allowed in the area. <br /> Artists must maintain personal hygiene and wash hands and wear PPE in accordance to state law. <br /> F. Sharps containers: Describe the procedures for the safe handling of sharps and indicate the <br /> location of the sharps containers. Indicate disposal frequency for sharps waste. They are opened <br /> in front of client right before procedure. The artist will log the lot#in the client's chart.
