Facility <br /> Ripon, California <br /> Dear Ms. Ginorio: <br /> On behalf of Nestle USA, Inc. (Nestle), Haley&Aldrich, Inc. (Haley&Aldrich) has prepared this Soil Vapor <br /> Probe Decommissioning Work Plan (Work Plan)to describe the field preparations and methods for <br /> decommissioning the soil vapor probes installed to support the vapor intrusion (VI) pathway assessment <br /> completed west and south of the former Nestle facility located at 230 Industrial Avenue, in Ripon, <br /> California (Site; Figure 1).The Report on Building-Specific Vapor Intrusion Evaluations(VI Report; Haley& <br /> Aldrich, 2023) was submitted to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board—Central Valley <br /> Region (Water Board) on 28 June 2023 and concluded that the VI pathway is not complete in the areas <br /> investigated.The VI Report recommended decommissioning the associated soil vapor probes. In a letter <br /> dated 21 July 2023,the Water Board concurred with the conclusions of the VI Report and requested a <br /> work plan for decommissioning the 79 soil vapor probes installed at 25 locations as part of the VI <br /> evaluation. <br /> FIELD PREPARATION <br /> Prior to the start of field activities, Haley&Aldrich will review the current Programmatic Health and <br /> Safety Plan developed for the Site and update it as needed for this scope of work. Haley&Aldrich will <br /> obtain boring permits from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department and access <br /> encroachment permits from the City of Ripon for work performed in the public right-of-way. Each <br /> location will be marked in white paint, and Underground Service Alert will be notified at least 48 hours <br /> prior to the start of fieldwork. <br /> SOIL VAPOR PROBE DECOMMISSIONING METHODS <br /> A total of 79 soil vapor probes are proposed for decommissioning at 25 locations (SV-100 through SV- <br /> 114; SV-116 and SV-117; SV-122 through SV-127; and SV-131 and SV-132). All of the soil vapor probes <br /> are located off Site; none are located in an area of known or suspected soil contamination, and no visual <br /> www.haleyaldrich.com <br />
