Exclusive Providers for MDleak® and PHDleak™ Technologies
2765 East Wieding Rd Tucson, AZ 85718 Phone 520.207.4878 FAX: 520.990.8965 www.LeakDetect.net

Author David Rabb 1 of 8
Version 211202
MDleak® & MCleak™
New Construction Enhanced Leak Detection
Work Plan

Acknowledgements:
New Construction Enhanced Leak Detection (ELD) is recognized by States Regulators, State Funds,
Insurance Companies, and Petroleum Companies around the United States that desire to operate at a level
greater than the federal standard allowable leak rate of 876 gallons per-year by component. In the State of
California, In-Service Enhanced Leak Detection (ELD) is a regulated testing method. MDleak® and
MCleak® testing methods provides protection to the environment that can eliminate site contamination by
reducing the allowable leak rate to 44 gallons per-year. Companies, State Funds, and State Regulators
that have embraced this state-of-the-art leak detection technology have acknowledged that sensitive leak
detection techniques save money over conventional testing methods. MDleak® and MCleak® test
methods are approved by both the National Work Group on Leak Detection Evaluations (NWGLDE) as
well as the California State Water Resources Control Board (CWRCB). Leak Detection Technologies,
LLC, (LDT) and Leak Detection Operations, Inc are authorized service providers for both the MDleak®
and MCleak® test methods.

Flexible:
MDleak® is a flexible testing method which allows owners to choose the sensitivity or leak rate of the
test. In some cases, the facility owners may require a 0.1 gph minimum leak rate where at other facilities
an ultra high or enhanced sensitivity leak rate (0.005gph) is required. The MDleak® testing method is
unlike other conventional testing methods in that it can deliver an adjustable sensitivity to fit nearly any
test protocol.

Economical:
The MDleak® test method is designed to identify and locate the leak source. This ability to pinpoint leaks
can save our clients dollars in lost time and unnecessary excavation. Conventional testing methods can
detect leaks but cannot identify the source of the leak within the system. Leak Detection Technologies
(LDT) ability to locate leaks with precision reduces downtime and saves our customer dollars.
