The contractor shall have all shear valves plug or capped and connected to the piping. <br />2. It is best to complete the turbine connections before the Pretest. Locating and repairing fittings <br />within the tank sumps during the pretesting is more efficient and less confining than during the <br />final ELD testing. <br /> <br />Secondary Piping and Connection: <br />1. MDleak® does not require special fittings to be installed by the contractor. <br />2. The contractor should use standard California approved factory secondary termination fittings or <br />boots. Termination fittings in California require test ports. Test ports shall be accessible to the LDT <br />Technician. <br /> <br />Vent Piping: <br />1. Extraction plugs should be installed and sealed properly. <br />2. Vent risers should be caped and should include test ports on each vent riser. <br /> <br />VR Piping: <br />1. Extraction plugs should be installed and sealed properly. <br />2. VR piping at the UDC should also be caped or plugged. <br /> <br />Final ELD Test Procedure: <br /> <br /> <br />Preparation: <br />1. Before testing can begin all permits and site information must be acquired by the contractor or <br />owner. LDT will supply all documents required as requested. <br />2. Contact LDT approximately 30 days or more before work is to begin with a tentative start date. <br />Late notification with LDT can result in delaying the testing do to late scheduling capabilities. <br />3. The contractor must notify LDT if any component in the system was installed that is not full <br />vacuum compatible. <br /> <br />Setup: <br />1. During the setup portion of the test a contractor is required to be present onsite. <br />a. The contractor is required to be prepared to repair any accessible component at the facility. <br />b. Access ports to the secondary containment are required to be installed by the contractor <br />prior to LDT arriving at the site. <br />c. Access to the top of the vent risers, tank sumps and UDC’s may be required. <br />2. Tanks with a vapor interstice are install ready to proceed. <br />3. Tanks with a wet or brine filled interstice will be tested utilizing the MCleak® test method <br />
