Large areas of <br />groundwater with elevated nitrate are found within the sub basin located southeast of Lodi and <br />south of Stockton. <br /> <br />Calcium-magnesium bicarbonate or calcium-sodium bicarbonate types characterize the majority <br />of the basin. Bicarbonate is the predominant anion in the eastern part of the basin. <br /> <br />4.4.7.2 Site Groundwater Quality <br />The groundwater beneath the NCRC&SL does not appear impacted by the presence of the <br />landfill at this time. The groundwater beneath the NCRC&SL is sampled semiannually in <br />accordance with the site’s WDR. Groundwater monitoring reports are submitted to the Central <br />Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board semiannually. <br /> <br />4.5 SURROUNDING LAND AND GROUNDWATER USE <br />4.5.1 Land Use <br />Land use surrounding the landfill site is described in Section1.4. <br /> <br />4.5.2 Groundwater Use <br />Groundwater use on and surrounding the property is agricultural applications and domestic use <br />(Appendix E). <br /> <br />There are 15 wells on the landfill property, including: <br /> <br />• The well serving landfill operations, located south of the landfill office building (Plate 2). <br />• A domestic well serving the rental property on the northeast corner of the property. <br />• An agricultural well located at the Martin Residence (Plate 2), now used to irrigate foliage <br />on the northern perimeter of the property. <br />• 15 groundwater monitoring wells. <br />
