3.0 Piezometer Design <br /> Figure 3 (left side) shows a typical 2" diameter piezometer configuration (no centralizers <br /> are required and grout required only for surface seal). This "above ground" design is <br /> typical for piezometers that will be used for 1 or more years. An alternative design for <br /> short-term use and lower cost, uses a 3/4" stand pipe piezometer and schedule 80 PVC pipe <br /> installed in a surface vault (Figure 3 right side). The material and installation labor cost for <br /> the 3/4" design is significantly less that for the 2" design.
