Groundwater Monitoring Well Constructlon Workplan
January 2024
Introduction
Monitoring well (MW)MW-204 is a proposed 4-level nested monitoring well which will aid in
implementation of the Tracy Subbasin(TSb or Subbasin)Groundwater Sustainability Plan
(GSP), by filling a groundwater level data gap associated with aquifers above(Upper Aquifer)
I
and below (Lower Aquifer). Both aquifers are separated by the Corcoran Clay in the
southeastern portion of the Subbasin and are located outside of existing dedicated monitoring
well networks. The MW-204 monitoring well will be used to measure groundwater levels; to
develop groundwater contours (along with other existing monitoring wells); and to assess change
in groundwater storage. Water quality samples will be obtained from the wells shortly after
construction and will be analyzed for general minerals, nitrate, and metals to further characterize
groundwater quality in the Subbasin.
Banta-Carbona Irrigation District(BCID) is the owner of the property. The drilling will be
performed by Eaton Drilling (Eaton)who is under contract by the California Department of
Water Resources (DWR).The work is being performed under DWR's Technical Services
Support program. GEI Consultant's, Inc., is helping to coordinate activities and has prepared this
workplan.
GEI Consultants, Inc. 2
