Geosyntec <br /> consultants <br /> These sites have been grouped into the following areas: <br /> • Site 41 <br /> • Central Areae (Sites 2, 5A, 513, 5C, 51), 43, 49 and UST 81713) <br /> • Landfill Area(Site 39, IAS-3/4, IAS-07 and IAS-16) <br /> • Site 33 <br /> In 2024, the areas were categorized into OUs to facilitate the RDFS process. The OUs follow the <br /> previous area groupings, with the Central Area split into two OUs. In the Central Area, the <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon UST 817B site was kept as a separate OU from the rest of the Central <br /> Area, which contains chlorinated solvents. The groundwater OUs are as follows: <br /> • Site 4 <br /> • Site 49 Central Area <br /> • UST 817B Central Area <br /> • Landfill Area <br /> • Site 3 <br /> 1.3 Previous Environmental Investigations <br /> Investigations have been completed over the last 41 years to improve the understanding of the <br /> hydrogeology, groundwater quality, and fate and transport of constituents of potential concern <br /> (COPCs) at RRI: <br /> • Eighty-nine piezometers and 370 wells were installed and gauged. <br /> • Approximately 370 grab-groundwater samples have been collected. <br /> • Thirteen stream gauges were installed and monitored by the Navy prior to the property <br /> transfer. <br /> • Approximately 350 wells have been sampled for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). <br /> • Groundwater samples have been collected at RRI for analysis of VOCs,total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons (TPH), semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), metals, pesticides, <br /> dioxins and furans, herbicides, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) aroclors, polycyclic <br /> aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), radionuclides, per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances <br /> (PFAS),pharmaceuticals and personal care products including DEET and bisphenol a, <br /> general chemistry parameters, and biogeochemical indicators. <br /> ' The Site 4 Area has also been referred to as the Warehouse Area. <br /> 2 The Central Area has also been referred to as the Administrative Area or the Site 49 Area. <br /> 3 The Site 3 Area has also been referred to as the Agriculture Area. <br /> RRI 2025 Groundwater Monitoring Work Plan 3 May 2025 <br />
