Using equipment - Back strain from lifting and moving <br />materials <br />- Equipment Damage <br />- Fueling spills ( splashing in eyes, face <br />and/or on skin) <br />- Improper Set-Up <br />- Sprains and Strains to body from lifting <br />- CARBON MONOXIDE <br />1. Ensure equipment is stationed on level ground and in a safe <br />designated area. <br />2. Check for an unusual sounds (if unusual sounds are identified, <br />contact Supervisor). <br />3. Check all fluid levels. If low, ensure proper levels are filled <br />and that proper oil/gas is used. <br />4. Ensure equipment is turned off when adding fluids. <br />5. Gasoline spilled on hot engine parts could ignite. <br />6. Ensure that there is adequate air. <br />7. If you start to feel sick, dizzy, or weak while using a <br />generator, get to fresh air RIGHT AWAY. DO NOT DELAY. The <br />CO from generators can rapidly kill you. <br />M <br />Ensure the right fluids are used <br />3. Completed Work / Storage - Back strain from lifting and moving <br />materials <br />- Burns <br />- Chemical Hazards <br />- Equipment Damage <br />- Fueling spills ( splashing in eyes, face <br />and/or on skin) <br />- Hand Injury <br />- heavy Lifting <br />- Poor Housekeeping <br />1. When work has been completed, let generator cold down as <br />some parts will be hot. <br />2. Ensure the work area is cleaned and that all trip hazards have <br />been eliminated. <br />3. When moving equipment, use the "BUDDY SYSTEM" to safely <br />lift/carry equipment. <br />4. Store equipment in a designated area that is secured. <br />5. Ensure that all chemicals (gasoline, oils) are stored in a <br />designated flammable cabinet. <br />6. Ensure chemicals are kept separated, per OSHA guidelines <br />7.
