1. Alco is allowed to accept underground storage tanks that previously held a hazardous
material as long as they are cleaned out?
2. EHD was informed by the contractor that there was an environmental fee for the
fiberglass removal. How is Alco going to dispose of the fiberglass?
3. Does Alco have a process for handling the underground tanks? There is currently a tank
number spraypainted on the fiberglass. If the fiber glass jacket is going to be removed
but the tank is not going to be shredded right away, the number will need to be sprayed
on the steel tank itself for tracking purposes. However, if the whole tank is going to be
shredded right away then that will not be needed.

Respectfully,

John Alaniz, REHS, CHMM

Lead Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 E Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205

Phone: (209) 616-3053
Fax: (209) 468-3433

Free CUPA training classes signup: https://www.sjgov.org/department/envhealth/

**I am out of the office every other Friday

--
Sincerely,

Alco Iron & Metal Co.

Michael Bercovich
Chief Operating Officer
